Learning objectives
The main learning objectives of the course are:
- to know the mechanisms of bodily functioning and in particular of the pneumo-phono-articulatory and auditory apparatus;
- to know the main anatomical structures and in particular of the pneumo-phono-articulatory and auditory systems;
- to know the mechanisms of bio-molecular cellular functioning;
- to know the mechanisms of bio-molecular functioning of the central nervous system;
- to know the elements of the different body tissues and in particular of the pneumo-phono-articulatory and auditory apparatus.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to possess the knowledge related to human anatomo-physiology, in particular to the pneumo-phono-articulatory system and will be able to understand the functioning of the central nervous system based on the acquired knowledge related to the mechanisms of molecular functioning.
Course syllabus and organization

Single session

Responsible
The lessons will be carried out remotely in synchronous mode on Microsoft Teams. For Biochemistry, some hours will be held in the presence of small groups following the University's instructions on social distancing, and simultaneously at a distance in synchronous mode. In any case, students will be able to access the lectures and teaching materials even remotely. As far as Anatomy, the five lessons will take place with the following procedure: 4 lessons will be carried out on Microsoft Teams in synchronous mode, 1 lesson will be uploaded on Ariel (asynchronous mode).
The program and the reference material will not change.
The exam will be written, according to the modalities reported in the dedicated section of the teaching form. According to the Rector's Decree of July 31, 2020 currently in force, the written exams will take place in the presence, in compliance with the safety regulations in force; for international students, students living outside the region as well as students with serious diseases, the possibility to take the exam remotely, even on a different date, will be guaranteed.
Prerequisites for admission
There are no specific prerequisites different from those required for admission to the degree course
Assessment methods and Criteria
The final exam consists in a multidisciplinary test compose by 60 quiz (Biochemistry 20, Physiology 20, Anatomy 10, Histology 10) with a single correct choice. Time for test resolution is 75 minutes and the test is passed with a score of 18/30.
Evaluation criteria: the ability of connecting acquired knowledge and of exercise solving in the field of interest will be considered. For this course there are no midterm exams. Exams results will be published on Ariel website and the association of the obtained score with the personal badge number will guarantee anonymity. At the same time results will be recorded on the electronic register log and the students have one week for the acceptance of the obtained score.
